So the tasks are mounting..but hey, it also means tt life's abt to get a whole lot more exciting :D
Of all tt has been tasked to me, there is one tt stands out the most - "Ed, u're to plan a trip for some youths to visit disaster sites in Aceh, Indonesia at the end of the year..to foster friendships and promote harmony between youths of different race, religion and nationality "... :D OMG...c'mon pple, please say a 'YIPPEE!!' with me ya :)
Oh..the boss commented to my supervisor tt he likes my workin style..and tt he feels i'm hardworking...ok, can i hear another yippee please?! :D So yeah..guess things are lookin up for me now.. things have been good for YLM too..in such a sense tt we're standing strong, being to to who and what we are..a community..of loving individuals.
Uni entry is still in Limbo though...2 places are willing to accept me..but the course fees and the methods that one has to go about financing them are the biggest problems right now.. I really hope that things get ironed out soon..pray for me ya?! thanx :)

Well, looking through photos of the CHINESE new year gathering ytd at the Yeos' residence and watching The Last Samurai again (yes..for the 1028873625th time) has left me in somewhat of a CONTEMPLATIVE mood :)) Among others, i realised that i'm not too good at poems :P and that poem above (at least I consider it to be one), is one of my first few attempts la...be nice with your critiques, if any :D
The new song playing is from the great maestro Hans Zimmer..yeah, the soundtrack for the Last Samurai was done by him..and after watching I once again got reminded about why I loved his music so much :) Enjoy :)

Thank God :) Now its here, and beyond.
They say a picture paints a thousand words..ok maybe not a thousand..prolly like 472 or sumthin :) So...I shall bring the uninitiated on a (mini) pictural journey thru the goings-on in a typical Hindu wedding.
U see, one of my nicer cousins, Kugan, got married yesterday and I decided to head down for the wedding, without creating any particular fuss :P I mean, there were INDIANS there..typical ones..and there were so many ceremoial proceedings tt I would have to sit through..& besides, it was an event involving my dad's side of the family; and I'm OH-SO-FOND of them la...But hey, he was a nice guy and I thought he deserved more than the rest :)
The focal point of the ceremony - The pit that contains the 'holy' fire and the other random ceremonial objects tt are important in the ceremony. The bride and groom would walk round the pit 3 times after tying the knot to seal the vows, in a sense.
Juz before tying the knot, the couple would have to put on toe rings while stepping on a particular stone...and im sorry, but idunnowhat it signifies :P
Here, the groom is being adorned with the toe-ring.
And when its all said and done, everyone heads downstairs for the wedding feast..to eat, drink, be merry, be sarcastic :P , take photos and then..head home (to change into evening wear, in preparation for the dinner, which was to happen in a few hours time) :)
The door gifts..some sweets..and more sweet stuff tt i cant name :P
Yes, tts me in a super-traditional INDIAN outfit..dunnowhat its called (I had to wear sumthin traditional since I was first-cousins with the groom)..and tts another cousin Gerard, whom I havent met in ages..yeah, tts another thing abt weddings, they bring pple together :P
...And then the couple heads home in this gorgeous (I also want!!) Jag.. Nice!!
Next up, the dinner.. Didn't take too many photos there cos I had to help out with the ushering & stuff..
With dad & Cuz Gerard...hmm..I juz realised tt both of them have this open button, broad collar thing going on.. -_-
So yeah, tts about it..one day in the life of a quasi-indian :)

Impossible is nothing..
Believe. Belief.
What is it that draws me closer? What justifies the longing? What do I see inside?
Basically, something. Beyond measure, beyond words, in a sense, beyond descripton. And yes *youknow*..very much indeed.
It's said that absence makes the heart grow fonder..oh how true..but then again, its definitely not a necessity! :P
we embark..we set foot..we remain rooted..beautiful :)
Someone told me something wise once.. it was deep and insightful...and i cant remember what that person said..heck, i cant even remember the person. Now a voice in my head is yelling out to me...i hear the word RANDOM....!!!! -_-
So why did I say that? Well, mainly because it didnt matter! Precisely..in life there's this natural selection process where we pick what matters and what doesnt..and well, its the things that matter that mean the most to us..& right now, in my life, there are only a number of things that are of significance to me..and, at this very MOMENT..a very special individual comes to mind :) oh well..
So whats with the choices tt we make? Well I feel its sumthin to do with comfort, peace and satisfaction at many levels. Though we may not always make sound judgements & good/right decisions, I'd say im glad with where I am now..with all the decisions made :) As for the wrong turns along the way..well, lets juz say its been a wonderful learning process la :)
Well, I'd say its good to keep lookin ahead, while being mindful of where we came from.. and btw, lookin ahead requires a fair amount of optimism..and that's where faith and trust comes in...yeah :)
Stuff to get done, people to meet, criteria to meet & obligations to fulfil, among others..
Juz really glad that WE aren't alone in all of this :)
