Juz finished watchin American History X..and i gotta say, its a classic in it's own right..Crash's predecessor even. I'm not being biased juz because it tackles the racism issue :p ..It was a good show..very moving. It really got me thinking..To what extent is racism at play in our mordern day society? And who exactly is to blame for such prejudice? Are the victims really the victims or are they the firestarters? And lastly, why the hell am I asking these questions?!? Anyway.. its really sad how pple seem to be put down/ trampled upon juz because they are DEEMED to be different. Be it race, language, dress style, hair color, size or even the freakin length of his/her 2nd toe..it juz matters, somehow, to some of us. Shallow? More like disturbed and in serious need of help if you ask me. Funny how we all say tt what matters is the person INSIDE.. is it really what people look at nowadays?..in these times where we are supposed to be a bit more civilised and 'mordern'? Dun judge a book by it's cover..hmm...and first impressions go a LONG way? So are we juz saying things..and fooling ourselves? Juz making ourselves a bit happier by thinking and 'feeling' that we have advanced somewhat. This topic has always been around..and out in the open...we tend to joke abt it and laugh it off from time to time..but is there something deeper and rather sinister lurking beneath? hmm.. I guess one can never really come to a definite conclusion on this..but hey, its worth spending some time & brain cells on. Well, as one priest said bout 4 years back when i was on a mission trip in the Philippines.."You may not be able to change the world, But..You can change yourself"..
:D wee...
