Its official.. I experienced my very 1st earthquake tremor today! Imust say it was a good mix of excitement and oddness.. Here's the scenario: Supervisor and I are busy typing away in our office, which happens to be situated inside an old building (formerly a police HQ of sorts), which also HAPPENS to be built on sloping ground.. when suddenly the ground moves.. It's a really odd feeling cos u don't know if it juz you or if the ground REALLY IS VIBRATING! lol.. So i turn to my supervisor and stare at her with a puzzled look...and she returns the look..then, as if on cue, we both look up at the lights hanging frm the ceiling and waddaya know?! THEY WERE SWAYING!! And wat did we do next? Continue to soak up the atmosphere of course! lol... we juz sat there and talked bout the tremors and the poor countries tt were taking the brunt of the force & tsunamis AND what not la... Then suddenly our operations manager (OM) comes running to us to confirm tt she's not losing it as well and to check if others felt it too! Hahaha! So the three of us chat even more now..with lights swaying overhead, for effect.. when the OM receives a call askin her what the hell her dept was still doin inside the office when half the occupants of the building were alr gathering on the first floor (like good, obedient singaporeans...awww.) :D But hey, my defense was, the SCDF conducts fire drills, NOT quake drills...so ignorance is bliss..in other words, I 'didnt know' I had to run down...in OTHER words, lazy la! The office seemed a lot more dangerous..and a lot more fun :D hahha! :D So yeah..there u have it.. my first quake..of sorts.. but on a more serious note..as my supervisor and I were discussing earlier, wats up with 3/4 quakes in a matter of hours? Ok, maybe they were aftershocks..but still, this strong?? I really dunno how the pple in danger zones like Indon, Sri lanka, India and Japan are gonna take it if the tsunami warnings ring true man... lets hope, and pray it doesnt. I mean a small display of nature's power is alr sooooo moving (pun intended)..I cant imagine wat her full-blown fury would feel like. Actually, there was some damage done to the building too.. the glass doors at the main entrance are now nothing more than shiny bits on the floor...aye. Well, that's about it for now... will report back if anything crops up again :D Its lunch time now..i hope we dun get hit with another tremor..we dun want our plates to start flying now, do we?
